What makes you laugh?
I am fortunate that not a week goes by that I don’t find myself enjoying a big belly laugh. My boyfriend Dan makes me laugh with his frankness. I laugh at reality television and the people that engage in such comedic stupidity. I have favourite comedians including Wil Anderson, Tim Minchin and Denise Scott.
When did you last cry?
Just a few days ago, I received a text from my boyfriend, saying that he loved me. He also used two other platforms (DM facebook and Whats’ App ) to tell me he loved me, virtually simultaneously. That made me cry - with joy. The last time I cried with sadness was when I was feeling down, apathetic and forlorn. No real reason. That was about three weeks ago.
What’s your earliest memory?
I remember sneaking behind the couch in the so-called family room and kissing a family friend on the lips. I think we were both aged around six. I had a crush on that dude for years.
Describe what ‘love’ means to you.
Love is nearly inexplicable. I say nearly. Kindness. Joy. Warmth. All that matters to me is that if someone says they love me, I have to feel loved.
What makes you unique to everyone else on this planet?
Is it too trite to say everyone is unique? Well, I think we are. What differentiates me from others I suppose is that I really like who I am. I am confident but hope not too cocky. I also like people.
Name 3 people (living or dead) you’d invite to your virtual quarantine dinner party.
Elvis Presley - so he could serenade us (sure, I’d have fried chicken on the menu).
David Bowie – because he was so damn sexy and I had so, so many raunchy dreams about him (yes, he’d be dessert).
Actually, I’d be happy with just the two. Very happy. (insert wink emoji).
Describe yourself in 5 words (this can be a sentence or 5 separate words).
Enthusiastic, Thoughtful, Lazy, Gullible and Friendly.
Who or what has made the greatest impact on your life?
My son. It’s extraordinary to bring someone into the world and watch them grow. I learn from him. I feel responsible for him. I care for him. I have great hopes for him.
I feel that there are probably things I wish I had done differently. But essentially, I am okay with the decisions I have made. I am content. Actually, I do wish I had not been so outrageously generous in my divorce settlement. What a fool I was thinking he’d appreciate it. Lesson learnt there.
Tell us something no one knows about you (and I mean no-one)? Until now.
Honesty is tough. Pass.
