Fuck, I am who I am / Doni Archer

Doni Archer, aged 44.

New Zealander Doni Archer has lived in Auckland her whole life except for the standard 5.5 years spent living in London, antipodean style. No partner (currently) or children (that she knows of).

What makes you laugh?

Dad humour. General pun-based jokes made at no-one's expense. The amazing things that come out of small humans mouths.

When did you last cry?

I don't cry easily (I wish I would/could!) but listening to the news during this current global pandemic has made me tear up frequently. So a few days ago I'd say.

What’s your earliest memory?

The house I grew up in till around age 10 but it's a blur of busy family times/birthday party times then the random odd memory like my father teaching me how to make tomato on toast, using tomatoes from his glasshouse full of them.

Describe what ‘love’ means to you.

OOOF. To me, love means kindness and acceptance and security and feeling like I have a solid team member. With both romantic love and non-romantic love.

What makes you unique to everyone else on this planet?

I've never thought of myself as particularly unique, although I did spend a LOT of my childhood trying to fit in and failing miserably. I find myself pretty hilarious and there's not many on this planet who would agree with that, I'm sure?? ;-)

Name 3 people (living or dead) you’d invite to your virtual quarantine dinner party.

My mother's parents, who died when I was 21 and 24 and were amazing humans. And my mother too obviously. Now THAT would get me (happy) crying!

Describe yourself in 5 words (this can be a sentence or 5 separate words).

Funny, Loyal, Stubborn, Enthusiastic, Creative.

Who or what has made the greatest impact on your life?

I've got to say my ma really. She can drive me a little bonkers but is also the best person I know. And we're a lot alike, which is unintentionally self complimentary. Oops!

Any regrets?

Yes. But not too many.

Tell us something no one knows about you (and I mean no-one)? Until now.

This is very hard as I'm very good at talking about myself... ok, sometimes I wish I'd had a more conventional life and wasn't aware it was conventional/regular. But I'm also very happy with mine.
